You may experience some mild redness and bruising of the skin – redness should subside within a few hours while bruising should fade within 1 week. It is not a suitable treatment for individuals who are experiencing autoimmune diseases such as arthritis or lupus. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not a candidate for Sculptra skin filler injections. It is also not recommended for use on the eyes or the lips due to its anatomical structure and skin tissue.

Sculptra is a safe treatment, with no known long-term side effects. There are only two short-term side effects – mild redness and bruising of the skin.

There is no downtime required for after being treated with Sculptra. The patient can return to their daily routine immediately following Sculptra treatment. It usually takes 4-6 weeks before results begin to show up as it takes time for collagen levels to build up. After this, you should see gradual improvements as the skin begins to thicken and your face begins to fill out.

A second touch-up treatment is recommended in order to finish up the facial contouring and sculpting process, and results will last for up to 3 years. Sessions are usually spaced 1 month apart, and individuals above 50 years of age may opt for 3 sessions in order to obtain more favourable results.
