After the test results are back, we can then move on to recommend potential treatment methods, which can include anything from taking pills to specific creams to use on your skin. Tests usually do not cause any side effects, but you may experience some when treating your particular condition. It is important to carefully follow your doctor’s advice regarding treatment such as how much to use, how often to apply, and when to stop.

There are two different types of testing available, which are a complete blood test and hormone test for women. Blood testing is important to keep track of overall physical well-being and warning signs of any disease. While for hormone tests, it depends on the patient’s health conditions and only will be running as per request from the doctor.

Eczema

A few medical conditions that inflame or irritate the skin, with symptoms including itching and rashes; the affected area is scaly and dry.

Psoriasis

Consists of patches of skin that are scaly or red plus itching; lesions may be a small patch or even cover large areas.

Vitiligo

Depigmentation of the skin, where the body actively destroys the melanin which creates patches of lightened skin.

Shingles

Also known as “zona”, shingles may be suspected if your skin is suffering from a painful rash combined with blisters, often in a stripe-like formation.

Fungal Infections

A common disease that affects many, they can appear in many shapes and form and it is advisable to seek out a skin specialist before it spreads.

Herpes Simplex Infections

A variety of herpes infections exist and are easily spread by coming into contact with an infected person’s lesions or body fluids.

If a patients’ diagnosis involves any testing like a blood test or hormone test, minimal discomfort may be experienced when the needle goes in to draw out the blood from the blood vessel. However, it will subside immediately after it completed.

There are no side effects, as the skin consultation will only involve physical diagnosis and simple medical testing if needed.

Patients can continue their daily routine immediately after the consultation with the doctors. However, patients will need follow-up sessions after the blood or hormone test result is out for diagnosis. The doctor will advise patients on the best treatments depending on their test results and current health condition. Commonly, blood test needs at least 3-4 days to be completed.

Cost for skin disease treatment will highly depend on the severity and size of the skin problem. Our charge is RM80 for any skin disease consultation.  Our doctors need to diagnose and consult with patients first before recommending any treatment that may suit you. Different skin problems with need different kind or combination of treatment in order to treat it. Moreover, there are some fees inflicted for skin disease consultation.
