As for the surgical procedure, it will involve a lot of steps and equipment as well as doctor attended, thus this will cost you more money.

For other procedures like dermabrasion and chemical peel, which are more affordable compared to the others. Most patients combine the two procedures with laser treatment in order to reduce the cost.

Treatment can be varied from patient to patient depending on the age, size and complexity of the design, skin type and type of tattoo.  The colour and depth to which the tattoo pigment extends also varies which cause use of different types of laser pigment in order to eliminate the tattoos. Some people might need 4 to 8 weeks to completely eliminate the traces of tattoos on their skin. If the tattoos are injected deep inside the skin, it will take much longer time to fade.

Most of tattoo removal techniques may take up to 3 to 10 treatments to completely remove from the skin depending on the tattoo type.  For each treatment to be done, it needs the treated skin to be healed first before proceeding with the next treatment. You may see the result of this as the tattoo lightening in appearance in each treatment.

Tattoo removal site is at risk for infection as the treated skin is exposed to the sun and other factors. You may get either hypopigmentation where the treated skin is paler than the surrounding skin or hyperpigmentation which treated skin is darker than the surrounding skin.
