Silhouette Soft Thread Lift

Silhouette Soft is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment to lift the skin through suspension suture. It opens up new possibilities in anti-aging treatments option for men and women.

The main component of Silhouette Soft is Poly L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a well-known polymer that has been used for many years in biomedical and pharmaceutical applications, especially as resorbable suture, a drug delivery system and in surgery (used for orthopaedic fixation devices such as pins, rods and screws).

Developed by scientists in the USA using reconstructive and aesthetic surgical expertise, Silhouette Soft is composed of PLLA monofilament with moulded cones made of Lactide/ Glycolide.

The suture serves as scaffolding under the surface of the skin to lift soft tissues that are sagging. The cones play dual roles – to hold the threads in place and stimulate the body’s production of collagen. In time, the fresh collagen will help to replace depleted facial volume due to aging.

Silhouette Soft thread lift helps restore the skin on the face to a smoother and more toned appearance through a double-action effect – an immediate repositioning of the tissue and a gradual regeneration of collagen.

The effect from the repositioning of the tissue is instant. This is because of tissue compression and skin elevation at the time of implanting the suture. After the suture is inserted, the doctor will apply slight pressure on the treatment area in order to adjust the contours of your face and smoothen it, resulting in its facelift effect.

Collagen and elastin are proteins naturally produced by the body – it binds skin together, keeping it elastic and smooth. Some skin irregularities and tightness can occur for a few days after the Silhouette Soft Lift treatment. Patient may experience minor pain, swelling, bruising and tenderness at the suture injection area. All these side effects will disappear and recover within 2 weeks. Use ice-cold pack at treated area to ease the pain and swelling.

Patients are advised to avoid any dental surgery, facial massages and facial aesthetic procedure within 4 weeks after procedure to allow the recovery process and also to minimise any potential negative effects on the Silhouette Soft treatment.

Silhouette Soft treatment may cause a minimal inflammatory reaction due to the insertion of a foreign body into the skin. However, it is a well-known reaction and common to all minimally invasive aesthetic procedure, which will subside within a week.

After the procedure, the recovery period is usually 1-3 days, occasionally longer for some patients.

Most patients are able to resume their daily activities in 1-3 days. However, patients are advised to refrain from engaging in vigorous sporting activity in the first 2 weeks after the procedure
