LipoFill body reshaping is a minimally invasive body sculpturing technique whereby the unwanted fat in some parts of the body is extracted out and transferred into other parts of the body to increase the volume. Then, as you lie down, the doctor will inject you with local anesthesia (LA) to reduce any discomfort. During the procedure, you will not feel a thing so you may relax. Then, the doctor will create an entry point for fat extraction. You may choose from any parts of your body you’d like to reduce the size, including belly, love handles or thigh.

The doctor will use a long cannula to extract the fat. This is done by probing the cannula to the area again and again. Although the procedure sounds painful, rest assured you’ll be under anesthesia now so you wouldn’t feel any discomfort.

After the fat extraction completed, the accumulated fat will then be processed in a centrifuge to get only pure fat. This pure fat will then be injected back to your desired areas.

The injected fat can stay in your body for 1-2 years. However, this varies with patients. If the patient has a sudden weight loss, the LipoFill will also reduce.

LipoFill can stay in your body for 1.5 – 2 years. However, it differs from one patient to the other depending on individual metabolism level. If a person has a high metabolism, he/she should maintain their weight so the body would not absorb the LipoFill.

The side effects of LipoFill is very minimal and rarely happens. If performed by a professional, experienced doctor, you may not worry of harmful side effects.

The most common side effects reported associated with this is the infection at the entry point. However, this is easily treated with some topical cream and constant cleaning. Other side effects include imbalance in the target area (lips, chin), but this often associated when the doctor doing the injection is not experienced.

The downtime for this treatment is about 2 weeks (10 – 14 days) where an MC will be given for 3 days. You may resume your daily activities on the 4th day after the procedure is done. However, any physical activities like jogging, swimming, or outdoor exercising are totally not allowed. The downtime for each individual may be different from one individual to another depends on the patient’s health condition.
