Fractional laser treatment is a non-invasive, non-surgical therapy to help with cellulite removal. The unpainful process helps to break down the damaged cells into smaller particles to be absorbed by the body. The immediate result can be seen instantly after the treatment and after 1 – 2 days as the redness reduces.
This process starts with numbing cream being applied to your targeted area to reduce any of unprecedented painful sensation and to give you a comfortable experience. Then, the doctor will slowly direct the laser nozzle to your stretch mark. The process is often described as a series of short hotspots. You may expect some redness after the treatment especially during the first 24 hours. Do not worry as this is temporary and will leave the skin in about 2 – 3 days.
To reduce the redness, you can apply a cool pack to the treated area. A warm shower can also help in improving your blood circulation. You may also apply skin care treatments and moisturisers to help with the healing process. Should your cellulite be on an open area, you’re recommended to apply sunscreen throughout the day until it reduces significantly.
The doctor will tell you to avoid skin picking of any sort, as it may cause scarring. Kindly avoid using Retin-A, Benzyl Peroxide or glycolic acid for a few weeks.
