SilkPeel Dermalinfusion for Stretch Marks

A common occurrence, most individuals are likely to experience stretch marks at some point in life. The skin gets stretched during periods of sharp weight gain or rapid growth and fine lines may slowly begin to form as it cannot adjust to the increase in stress caused. Regular production of collagen needed by the skin will be interrupted, with connective tissue not growing as per usual. This leads to the skin tearing as a result, since it cannot increase its elasticity with the absence of collagen. Stretch marks are most common during pregnancy for women or periods of puberty for both genders.

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion is a step above microdermabrasion, but very similar in nature. It exfoliates the top layers of skin using a diamond head in order to remove any dead skin cells present. Using vacuum pressure, the hand piece pulls up skin into a chamber within the hand piece where it is then abraded gently or aggressively depending on the intensity set by the doctor.

What separates it from microdermabrasion is the infusion of a topical serum right at the dermal junction where new skin cells are being generated to replace the dead skin cells. It also triggers the skin to produce fresh collagen which is needed to help the skin repair itself. This new reserve of collagen and fresh skin cells produced will help erase the fine lines and marks caused by stretching, maintaining your skin’s youthful look.

The topical serum can help to transform your skin and a visible improvement should be apparent after the first treatment. It will continue to improve after each subsequent treatment. Sessions are typically 2 weeks apart during the first cycle, and will take place in between larger intervals for the next round of treatments. Your doctor will guide you and recommend a suitable number of treatments and cycles for good results.

Each treatment is swift, taking only about 20 minutes which means you can schedule a quick appointment during lunch and head back to work after it. No downtime is required and you can return to your daily routine immediately. Individuals with sensitive skin may experience slight discomfort or a tingling sensation but this should subside after a few hours. Your doctor will also advise and discuss post-treatment maintenance options with you.
