We at Premier Clinic, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur recently had a threadlift and laser vaginal rejuvenation demonstration session. We had 3 volunteers who were treated by aesthetic doctors, Dr Kee Yong Seng, Dr Aarthi Maria and Dr Elaine Chong.

Threadlift is the use of biocompatible and biosoluble fine, miniature PDO threads to help lift the skin, reduce sagging and fine wrinkles. The threads are absorbed by the body in about 6 months. During this time, it will help the skin to produce more collagen, which gives the lifting and anti-sagging effect. The procedure takes about 1 hour per person and is done with the patient under topical anaesthesia to give more comfort.

The results of threadlift are seen immediately but the best results appear about 4  months after the procedure. The results can last up to 1.5 years. There would be some swelling and discomfort after the procedure but this can be lessened by applying an ice compress or taking paracetamol tablets.

Laser vaginal rejuvenation is performed by using a Fotona Spectro Erbium YAG laser. The probe is gently introduced into the vagina. The laser causes microscopic, controlled injury to the vaginal wall, which causes the vagina to tighten over time.

This 20 minutes procedure is painless and does not cause much side effects. The patient would have to abstain from sexual intercourse for 3 days after the procedure.  Three sessions, done once a month, gives the best results.
