Partnership with Celebrity Fitness

Besides making one look good, Premier Clinic also believes that a person should be healthy and lead an active lifestyle. With this, Premier Clinic has partnered with Celebrity Fitness gym to sponsor the main prizes for their ‘Dare Your Friend’ competition.

Celebrity Fitness, Malaysia’s biggest fitness centre operator and one of the region’s fastest growing fitness brands announced their ‘Dare Your Friend’ competition in July 2014. The novelty of this competition is how it is targeted at friends one might know who constantly complains that they need to get fitter – whether through weight management, building muscles and the like – but never do anything about it. Members of the public are invited to nominate (or more correctly, dare) someone who needs to get fitter but just never got down to doing it.

In conjunction with Celebrity Fitness’ 11th anniversary, eleven nominees with the most creative slogan will be selected to experience Celebrity Fitness’ exclusive 5 Star Makeover from July 2014 through September 2014. On top of a complete body, fitness and nutrition transformation, these eleven participants will also compete for a plethora of prizes worth more than RM 20,000 including free aesthetic procedures worth over RM15,000 sponsored by Premier Clinic.

Typhoon Haiyan, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Yolanda, was one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded, which devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines, on November 8, 2013.

It is the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,300 people in that country alone.

Our aesthetic physician, Dr Aarthi Maria volunteered her time to join a medical mission to Tacloban, Philippines which was the worst hit area. She attended to over a hundred of patient daily from 31 July to 3 August 2014.

During her time there, she was the doctor attending to outpatient cases such as cough and flu, muscular aches, skin infections and even tuberculosis and pneumonia. She also treated patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension.

Besides being at the outpatient clinic, Dr Aarthi also visited a few villages on the outskirts and conducted mobile medical clinics there.

Premier Clinic doctors and staff believe in giving back to society. In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2014, we worked with Sime Darby and Pertiwi NGO organisation to give medical treatment free of charge to the poor, homeles,  refugees,  drug addicts and sex workers.

On 8 August 2014, we treated about 50 patients at Chow Kit and Kotaraya area in Kuala Lumpur. Most of the patients come with cough and cold, body aches and skin diseases. A number have diabetes, high blood pressure and other chronic diseases.

Besides organising the charity clinic, free second hand clothes and delicious Hari Raya food was also distributed to over 600 recipients on that night. Volunteers including our doctors wore Hari Raya and traditional costumes during the event.

Thanks to everyone who participated in Premier Clinic Instylista challenge and congratulations to Suhairah for winning. Her photos were charming and creative, and really captured the spirit of the challenge.

Their winning photo received the most votes by all our fans. Ms.Suhairah came all the way from Johor Bahru to receive her Red Carpet Treatment worth RM3,500.

In cooperation with Pertiwi Soup Kitchen, Premier Clinic staff and doctors volunteered their time and expertise to set up mobile charity clinics in various locations in Kuala Lumpur.

Our staff and doctors were on hand to register,  give consultation,  conduct physical examination and dispense medicine to the poor, homeless, refugees, transgender and sexual workers.

About 50 patients were attended to that night.  Cases included cough and cold,  muscle aches and skin disease.  We also seen cases of uncontrolled high blood pressure and lung diseases.

Pertiwi volunteers also distributed free food and drinks to over 300 people.  They also gave away old clothes and had volunteer barbers cutting hair.

Premier Clinic doctors and staff had a wonderful buka puasa (fasting month) dinner at Pickle & Fig restaurant at Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Kuala Lumpur on 17 July 2014. The entire team was there to enjoy the gathering in a relaxed and comfortable setting. We organise frequent dinners and outings amongst our entire team to generate team spirit, bonding and friendship amongst ourselves. We usually organise celebrations for Hari Raya, Deepavali, Chinese New Year and Christmas for ourselves.

After the dinner, we had a lucky draw session with 3 attractive cash prizes. Dr Kuek and Dr Elaine was invited to draw the first and second runner up prizes. Interestingly, they each drew their own numbers and won! Dr Chen drew the grand prize which was won by our lovely beauty therapist Miss Fion.

Premier Clinic believes in giving back to society. We are happy to do our part in the betterment of society, so on 4 July 2014, we collaborated with Pertiwi Food Kitchen to help the needy.

We volunteered at mobile clinics in Chow Kit, Masjid India and Masjid Negara from 8.30pm to 12 midnight. Our doctors and staffs provided medical consultation and treatment. Patients who received free medical treatments comprised of the poor, beggars, drug addicts and sex workers.

There were over 50 patients seen on that night. Most patients had cough and cold, muscle aches and infected wounds. They were prescribed the necessary medicines including vitamins, painkillers and antibiotics, besides creams and solutions for dressing.

Amongst the more serious cases seen were bone cancer, infected scabies and undiagnosed uncontrolled hypertension.

The volunteers also helped distribute free hot meals such as rice, chicken, bread and drinks. More than 200 people benefited from the free meals.

Our doctors and staff had a surprise visit from three Kuala Lumpur members of parliament, including Nurul Izzah and Teresa Kok, who came to support the charity work.

Dr Chen Tai Ho of Premier Clinic says: “When helping those who are down, the more we give, the more we gain”.

HOPE Worldwide Malaysia is hosting its Flagship Fundraising Event – The 3rd Bolathon Charity Fun Run & Masquerade Walk on 1 June 2014. Dubbed as one-and-only “Charity Masquerade Walk” in Malaysia, the event is organized once every four years, in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup. There will be a 3km walk and 10km run competition.

The proceeds from the event are put to use for implementation of their Health, Food and Education Programs for underprivileged communities.

Doctors and volunteers from Premier Clinic were on hand to assist in the registration process of the run and walk competition at Hope Worldwide office located at Sentul. Dr Chen assisted other volunteers to check participants’ particulars and distribute their run numbers and goodie bags.

Our clinic doctor and staffs will also run to participate in the 10km run competition to help the organisation collect donations and proceeds for their charity clinic program.
