5 Questions to Ask Your Aesthetic Doctor Before Your Procedure

5 Questions to Ask Your Aesthetic Doctor

Many people in Malaysia typically get referrals to see an aesthetics doctor. Deciding if a doctor is the best fit for you is important. You want a dedicated doctor that knows they’re doing and addresses any concerns you may have.

To get a better idea of what you’re getting yourself into, it’s a good idea to ask some questions before any cosmetic procedure or treatment.

Consultation by doctor

1. What can I expect during the procedure?

Get the doctor to explain in detail how he or she will be doing the procedure, and whether you need to be on anesthesia. It’s also good to know if hospitalization is required after the procedure.

2. How often do they perform similar procedures?

A good way to tell how experienced a doctor is is by asking how often they perform similar procedures. Some doctors perform certain procedures more than others while some specialize in specific procedures, so they’re perhaps better equipped to do the job. Additionally, you can also ask them how many years of experience they have.

3. How long will it take to recover and are there any post-surgery side effects to watch out for?

Talk about what to expect after the procedure. Your aesthetic doctor should explain the post-procedure regimen clearly and if there are any known post-treatment side effects. Bear in mind that the recovery period differs between people and everyone reacts to procedures differently.

Additionally, the doctor should also explain what to do after the surgery to heal and recover. Ask your doctor about dealing with pain, sun exposure or even food to avoid during the recovery period.

4. How do I prepare for the procedure?

Ask your doctor what needs to be done for a smooth procedure. For example, certain procedures require you to remove your nail polish beforehand. Do ask the doctor what medicine will be used during the procedure, just in case, you might be allergic to them.

5. Am I a good candidate for this procedure? If not, what would you recommend?

It is likely you already know what you want. Perhaps you have been wanting to do botox for a while now and finally have the courage to get it done. That is great news, but it is still worthwhile to discuss your aesthetic goals with your doctor. They might have a few different ideas on how to get you looking your best, or maybe they have a procedure that might work better. Of course, the choice is entirely up to you, but the more information you get on the various treatment options available for you, the better. It helps you make a more informed choice to achieve a better outcome.
