Tummy Fat Reduction Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is the injection of small doses of medications via tiny needles into a localized area. It can be done on the scalp to promote hair grown. Mesotherapy (or meso for short) can also be performed on the face to rejuvenate the face and to restore youth to the face. Mesotherapy can also be used for localized, targeted fat reduction, especially stubborn belly fat.

Dr Elaine Chong performed a session of Mesotherapy for fat loss, also known as Mesolipo, for Miss Apple Tan. Dr Elaine Chong of Premier Clinic in Bangsar first cleansed the treatment area, in this case the abdomen, before proceeding with the procedure. Ice packs are applied on the area before injection to make it numb and more comfortable. The actual procedure takes less than 5 minutes and can be repeated every few weeks.

Skin fungal infection can present itself as an area of skin discolouration with or without itch. The condition is usually infectious as well as chronic, meaning patients could have been having it for years. Many people do not seek treatment early enough for this treatable skin condition, which can result in the condition worsening.

Besides oral anti-fungal drugs such as ketoconazole and fluconazole, or creams such as miconazole, laser treatments can also be performed using a Long Pulse Nd:YAG laser which causes heating, thereby killing off the fungi on the skin.

Usually combination treatments works the best, so besides using lasers, your doctor may also combine the treatment with oral anti-fungal medicines and creams. Several sessions of laser, done once a month, would be necessary.

It is also important to maintain good skin hygiene and to keep the treatment area dry all the time.

Dr Elaine Chong performed a laser treatment for a demo subject using the Long Pulse Nd:YAG laser for Mr Mustafa who has been having the fungal infection for a long time. Mustafa works long hours, and combined with the tendency to sweat at the groin area, he developed a fungal infection. The painless laser performed by Dr Elaine Chong of Premier Clinic only takes 10 minutes.

What would a person do to combat the signs of aging? A lot apparently, as many people would be willing to undergo major facelift surgery to tighten their sagging facial skin. Whilst a facelift operation can produce excellent results, they tend to cause a lot of pain, redness, swelling, bruising and a long downtime. One also has to contend with the risk of general anesthesia as well, and infection to boot.

For this reason, a rising number of Malaysians are opting for non-surgical approaches to skin tightening and lifting.

Premier Clinic offers a variety of skin tightening methods to choose from. We have Ultherapy which employs high intensity focused ultrasound, threadlift and long pulse Nd:YAG lasers such as the Candela GentleYAG and the Fotona Spectro laser.

We were fortunate to have a couple of volunteer friends, Miss Toh and Wendy coming to try out our latest Fotona Spectro laser. Long Pulse Nd:YAG laser beams are directed to the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production. This is turn helps to lift the skin. Jowls, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced
slowly over time.

A couple of session would be required for best results. Results last for 1.5 years or so, depending on one’s lifestyle and genes. The good thing about this laser is that you can always opt for more sessions in the future as it is affordable, safe and has no downtime whatsoever.

Most men have some fats over their tummy and love handles. No matter how much a guy can exercise or diet, these are commonly the stubborn areas of fat which will not go away easily.

As for ladies, their areas of stubborn fat differ from men. Ladies tend to gather adipose tissue over the lower belly, sometimes called the pooch. Buttocks and thighs are also areas of stubborn fat.

To help reduce the unsightly appearance of belly rolls, love handle spare tyres and even fats on the arms and inner thighs, cryolipolysis is something to be considered. Cryolipolysis, or cryolipo for short, is the use of cold temperatures to kill off fat cells. It’s has some of the results of liposuction but without the risks or side effects of surgery.

Cryolipolysis works by freezing the undesired fat to 5 degrees Celsius. That is cold enough to injure and kill off the fat cells, which are eliminated by the body in a natural way. The best results would take some time time, up to 3 or 4 months after the procedure since our body needs time to clear off the fats. However, slight changes can be seen 1 to 2 month post procedure.

We had several volunteers this week at Premier Clinic Taman Tun Dr Ismail trying out our cryolipolysis. Most of them find the procedure very bearable. The cold temperature numbs the treated areas so that it is not painful during the hour long cryolipo. Our patients were attended to by Dr Kee Yong Seng.

Have you ever wondered why some people have dimples on their cheeks whereas others don’t? Scientists have discovered that if a child consumes a lot of ice cream or popsicles, they have a higher tendency to develop dimples. This phenomena is called apoptosis, whereby the cold temperature of the ice cream kills of fat cells in the cheeks, thus creating the dimpled appearance. Interesting!

Based on this finding, scientists have created the cryolipolysis (cryolipo for short) procedure whereby cold temperatures are used to injure and kill of fat cells. A cryolipolysis machine freezes the fats to 5 degrees Celcius. At this temperature, other tissues are not affected as they are more resilient to cold. Thus skin, nerves, muscles and internal organs are not harmed by cryolipo. However, fat cells are more sensitive to cold temperatures and are eliminated by the body naturally over time after the cryolipo procedure.

A session of cryolipo can give you some results, but the best results would be after several sessions. And you will need to wait 3 to 4 months after the last session to see the best results. This is because the injured and dead fat cells need time to be fully eliminated by our body’s natural immune system.

A session of cryolipolysis takes 1 hour and each session can be performed once a month. The procedure has minimal downtime and one can go back to work, exercise and conduct their usual daily activities right after the procedure.

Premier Clinic had several volunteers today who came for cryolipo demonstration sessions. They were attended to by Premier Clinic’s aesthetic doctor, Dr Elaine Chong.

We are having several sessions of Cryolipolysis demo this week at Premier Clinic, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Cryolipolysis, or Cryolipo for short, is a method of freezing off unwanted fat cells which will lead to loss of inches in the targeted area.

The Cryolipo procedure involves applying the machine’s handpiece over the treated area. When switched on, a gentle vacuum suction and cooling of tissue will start. The Cryolipo machine brings down the temperature of the treated area to 5 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, the fat cells get injured as they are more sensitive to the cold whereas the skin, nerves and muscle do not. Over the course of the next 3 to 4 months, the fat cells would be naturally eliminated by the body’s immune system. This in turn causes the area to become slimmer and more physically attractive.

Commonly treated areas include tummy, love handles, thighs and arms. Each session of Cryolipolysis takes one hour. More than 1 session can be performed, once every few months to give even better results.

The advantage of this procedure is that there is no risk of anesthesia as opposed to surgery such as liposuction. There is also no scarring or risk of infection. There may be some redness and swelling on the treated area which disappears in a few day. There might be tingling sensation or numbness over the treated area but this will go off in less than 2 weeks. There is no downtime and the client can go back to work or exercise right after the Cryolipo.
