Dermaroller for Wrinkles

CAUSES FOR AGING WRINKLES

Wrinkles and fine lines are a natural occurrence as you age, and is an inevitable part of the aging process. As you get older, skin will become drier, thinner and less elastic. This means the skin slowly loses its ability to protect itself from damage and cannot snap back into place, resulting in creases and folds in the skin beginning to develop. Your facial expressions, dehydration, smoking or excessive sun exposure may also be factors in the development of wrinkles.

HOW DERMAROLLER WORKS ON REDUCING WRINKLES?

Dermaroller treatment is designed to trigger the skin into producing fresh collagen in order to revitalise the top layers of the skin. Otherwise known as skin needling, this process also triggers the growth of new skin cells which results in fresh layers of tissue.

A sterile roller will be utilised, introducing a series of sharp micro-needles to the skin and creating microscopic channels in the process. The minor damage caused to the skin is meant to trigger a reaction from the body, producing new collagen and elastin to repair itself. This generates new skin cells, revitalising your skin which also becomes thicker and more youthful in appearance. These microscopic channels also close up rapidly which allows the skin to begin the healing process quickly.

Depending on your individual needs, a customised serum will also be used during the process to aid in the recovery. A topical anaesthetic is also applied to the skin to prevent any pain or discomfort during treatment, while fresh rollers are used on each individual to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. There should be no risk of developing an allergic reaction as the micro-needles are made from a titanium alloy.

DERMAROLLER POST-TREATMENT

As the microscopic channels close very quickly, there is almost no chance of infection but some minor skin inflammation can be expected. This will fade in a few hours and subside completely in about 1 day.

On average, it is recommended that you undergo a minimum of 3 treatments about 6 weeks apart for general anti-aging or 5 treatments for acne scars or general scarring. However, the number may vary according to the individual and your doctor will advise and recommend a suitable number of treatments for you.
